Flipping Flip : Living nor dead.

"Machine-powered facsimiles of life. The uncanny erupts in our encounter with an undecided being who occupies a state between life and death, whether a life-like machine or a ghost.

Fontanive’s artworks seem strangely possessed, producing curiously moving animals that are neither living nor dead, or creating ghostly systems which seem to float mid-air and follow a pace and logic of their own."

Friendly Canadian Photographer

Andrew B.Myers - a 'Friendly Canadian Photographer'.

Obsession. Perfection. Colour. Theory. Composition.

"I don't really work in series, but rather seem to have created an ongoing collection of loosely tied vignettes over the past few years. Most of what I've depicted would be the light-hearted and humorous, the relationship between objects and human beings, and a smattering of my fascination with pop culture and the discovery of that which is truly interesting within the mundane."

"A jack of all trades"

Jen Mussari
- a hilarious and entertaining lettering & illustration designer - a "Jack of all trades. Master of a couple". She is light-hearted and to the point -
an element that I am joyfully liking more and more.... a no frills type of girl!

Check out her section on 'The Internet' ... lots of meaningless gifs but they are actually quite weird and wonderful. Totally unnecessary but why the hell not ...

DENIM l o v e

Selfridges recently launched a new type of interactive campaign to
promote its new DENIM store.

This new type of interactive advertising was actually created by collage of
well over 300 images - all shot by members of the public. An audience was
invited to The Old Selfridges Hotel to create the montage - the video brings
the collage to life and illustrates how technology can be used as explained
by the photographer Tom Craig. “If you imagine every different perspective
[at an event] and every different individual takes a picture, and that picture
becomes a mosaic, then the contribution of all of those people becomes
an epic image”

Its a great way to interact with user engagement - the ad itself took less
than 24 hours to create which shows how technology has and is developing.
It's been featured online & on billboards - I've even pictured it on the
flagship store itself (see below)!

Fly away with me ...

Neil Stevens - is an image maker who stumbled on a set of
old 1950's set of airline luggage tags.

He recreated the iconic, typographical three letter prints, to show
how a non-advertising format made these the most recognisable ...
and more focused on the detail!

I want one. Please...

Marc Johns

I LOVE him more than life at the minute.
It's fun & simple with a twist of playfulness.

He draws with a simple narrative - a form and understanding of everyday thoughts - those secret thoughts that you never actually say out loud! Well if you're me ... I say them and I say them out loud!

Take a look at his site for more!

You got me Tumbling ...

Tumblr Tumblr Tumblr ....
What is it with Tumblr ?

It is everywhere ...
Just recently - I am seeing an ever more presence of Tumblr sites that encourage, share and feed of each other. They pool together the wonders of our visual world for people with wondering eyes, hungry appetites for design and a general outlook on all things beautiful.

From dressed up dogs, finger licking food, obscure landscapes, footwear, clothing, art to beautiful (naked) women, they complete a visual diary on mass ... a moment shared and loved.

A moment shared.
A moment lived.
A moment felt.

A process that I am being absorbed by and it's taking me by storm.
And here are my i { h e a r t } No. # blogs that I want to share with you.

The power of ...

... TV advertising ... a love//hate relationship.

We can individually watch over 47 adverts per day, that's also more than 2.7 million ads in the UK per day. It is the only medium that delivers growth, maximum impact and if a company axes TV advertising for one year - it can takes five to undo! It creates emotions, connects the viewer with a brand, and is efficient in new technology. And that's why I love it.

ThinkBox - is the marketing body for commercial TV ... to help advertisers get more out of TV. What I love more about this brand is their own advertising. Harvey the dog & Rabbit - a brilliant and innovation strategy about a dog and his toy friend - created by The Red Brick House. It's memorable, engaging and I have bought into it. This is a story, a friendship that so many can relate too, a bond that brings two things together ... a similar strategy that ThinkBox are trying to achieve in their own marketing.

See him on Facebook !

Merry Crimbo #2012

With the festive season in full spirit, I am actively taking part ... already I have taken part in eating my weight in Quality Streets, mince pies and Foxes biscuits. God love them! So with this in mind - Team Digital at Debenhams HQ - had the chance to create our very own Winter Wonderland and what a pleasure it was. With a graphical & minimalist version of Christmas - after a lot of sweat and tears we produced the best ever display. And boy we were proud ... Happy Crimbo to all, with love ...
