Also ...

Two important conversations all in one day!!

On friday was going home after work, minding my own business then over heard one of those conversations (you'll know the one I mean!!) between two men as the second man got on to the train (they obviously know each other) and it goes something like this,

"How was work - coloured in anything yet, what is it you colour in????"

Couldn't help myself but intervene and quite politely ask the second gent - 'I take it you do design?'. We talked about "colouring in" - confirming to the first gent that colouring in is not ACTUALLY our job but a mere part of the creative aspect to everything we do.

I then chatted with the second chap and found out that he works for a very similar ethical and sustainable design agency like UHC where I am - we swapped business cards and I had a very interesting conversation; it just proves that where ever you may be a potential contact is within reach and you should make the most of it.

A new Project!

I have been asked to work with another design agency to do a complete re-brand for a company; here is my inspiration of some of the hottest and most latest advertising that proves to be in connection with the target audience but also makes a long lasting impression!

Mike Perry

You will no doubt of heard of Mike Perry from his book, Hand Job : A category of type (which I might add it a fantastic collection of inspiration) but I have begun to appreciate and be more and more interested in his work that often feels so different and fresh compared to other designers in this style.

In particular I love the first image of a man holding several balloons with imitated faces drawn on - it is a really nice piece of communication, and I feel that it shows a deeper meaning of the subject matter than intended. If anything it makes me react - a cause that some design fails to!

A day out in Uppermill, Oldham to celebrate the 'Yanks' weekend.
A blast if the past ... nice typeface though!

Alittle bit of this ... and that!

I've been doing some cardboard research recently (for one reason or the other ...) and stumbled over this ... A beautifully crafted mac bag that is literally indestructible!!!

Would I buy one ... yes actually! Would you??
